This series of new works takes direct inspiration from a childhood spent in Caracas, Venezuela. The subjects of the work include images and distant memories associated with those early years, with much of the focus on the products from the city’s local “kioskos”*.
By taking products that have been discarded for both the subject and the medium, Gabriella hopes to create iconic images making everyday “throwaway” objects into something of value.
* Kiosko: A newspaper stand of small store selling cigarettes, confectionary and some foodstuffs ubiquitous to Venezuela.
